Get BiZi! We'll deliver awesome flowers/gifts to your Mom!

Mother's Day is here!  May 11th, 2008 (sunday).  Doesn't mom deserve the very best?  I know mine does.  I always write a great card for her (usually crying in the process), just reliving all the reasons why she's the best mom ever.  And of course, send her flowers and gifts!

My mom is always there for me, no matter how old I get.  I always turn to her for advice...even if I don't want to hear it, she always says the right thing.  She was the one that would hold my hand when I crossed the road, took me to my first day of school and cried when she sent me on my way, stood by me when the world seemed against me, told me what a wonderful person I was (even when I was a defiant teenager), laughed at my jokes, kept every card I ever gave her (and then some), wiped away my tears when I had a broken heart, believed in me when I didn't believe in myself, and above all, showed me what unconditional love really is.  Thank you Mom...you're the best!

I know I'm not alone with the way I feel about my mom.  There are those of you that will read this and truly understand what I am saying.  I like to feel that I honor my Mother every day, but life does get in the way, you grow up, get married, have children, work to make a living for your family.  This is the one day of the year that I feel it is so important to STOP and make sure that Mom knows how much she means to me!  BiZi Bee Floral is here to help you do the same!

We can make sure your Mom knows how much you love her and think of her by delivering the very best fresh flowers/gifts direct to her door.  And you can attach a card!  Tell her how much she means to you.  Don't let life get in the way of doing this.  We're only a phone call (206-440-8819 or 877-424-9423) or mouse click away (bizibeefloral.com).  We are located in North Seattle, but are part of a great network of florists all over the country or world, to make sure your Mom knows how much you love her this Mother's Day.

Not only do we have fresh flowers and cards, but we also have awesome chocolates (sugar free too!), locally artist made jewelry, Diva Nail Salon and Spa gift certificates, and plants!  You can check out our website, we know that every mom is different, that's why we tailor make each bouquet to suit her personality.  Get BiZi--Bee Happy!

Send the infamous "Green Rose" for St. Paddy's Day!

What a better way to say "Happy St. Patrick's Day" than by having the infamous green rose delivered to your love! Everybody wants these beautiful naturally green roses and BiZi Bee Floral in North Seattle has them! Whether it be a single green rose or a dozen, they're sure to make an impact.
The green rose has many meanings, but mostly conveys a message of plentitude and affluence, and augurs great success for any new venture! The color green in general symbolizes the richness of nature and the completeness of life. If you're celebrating St. Paddy's Day, here are a few tips:
How to celebrate St. Patrick's Day:
  • Wear green
  • Pin a shamrock to your hat
  • Speak with a brogue or wear brogues
  • Send a bouquet of green flowers (belles of Ireland, green mums, green carnations, green gladiolus, green alstromeria, green roses)
  • Drink Irish beer and spirits at "The Blarney Stone Pub and Restaurant"
  • Wish your friends and family "Top o' the morning to ye" and every so often cry out "Erin go bragh!" (Ireland forever)
  • If you're a mayor, dye your town's rivers green and paint your lane markers green.
  • Dance and sing in an Irish Pub
So, put on your bit o' green (whatever that may bee), kiss a Blarney stone (or an Irish person.."kiss me, I'm Irish!"....thought to bring good luck), pick up a phone, call your local florist (206-440-8819), send "green" roses or flower bouquet or shamrock to your someone special, drink some green beer in an Irish Pub (The Blarney Stone Pub and Restaurant), and make sure to do it all while speaking with a brogue.
I'll be here (wearing green, of course!), happy to help (even online) you pick out the best green flowers to make sure you stay out of the dog house while you're partying down in that Irish Pub! Cheers!

Make Someone's Day: Send Flowers from a Local Florist!

I can remember the first time I ever received flowers. Can you? It was Valentine's Day, 1993. I was a junior in High School. They were delivered to my house after school and the note read, "Be my Valentine, from your secret admirer". The was overwhelmed with giddiness and couldn't stop smiling for days afterwards. Somebody noticed me, somebody liked me enough to reach out and send flowers to me. I never did find out exactly who sent those roses, but I had my suspicions.

Today, I work with flowers, day in/day out. I never knew I would end up owning my own shop and helping others feel just like I did back in High School. But, we do it every day and love it. My husband and I own BiZi Bee Floral together. I do most of the designing and Justin does most of the delivering/marketing. It works well. We love what we do and can't imagine doing anything different.

The smile on somebody's face when they open the door and see a beautiful arrangement of flowers, is worth so much to us. Sometimes people actually break down in tears when they receive flowers..I suspect this may either be the first time they receive flowers or they're just so happy that somebody special thought about them enough to send the very best flowers that would put a smile on their face and a skip in their step.

Research conducted by Rutgers University and the Society of American Florists indicates that flowers have an immediate impact on the happiness of the recipient, have a long-term positive effect on people's moods, and increase the connections among family and friends. I'm here, at BiZi Bee Floral in Seattle, to help you pick out the best bouquet when you want to reach out and touch somebody's life..to make their day a little merrier, to show them how much they mean to you, to let them know that somebody does care. A fresh floral bouquet goes a long way in somebody's heart/mind. All these years later, I can still remember when I first received flowers...can you?

Remember, when you order flowers, go through a local florist. I can't tell you enough, how important this is to your local florist and to you as well! Not only will you receive wonderful service, but a floral professional will help you pick out exactly the right flowers (roses, lilies, tulips, daisies, iris, orchids, tropicals, gerberas, gladiolus, etc) for your sentiment. And, when you order directly from your small, local florist, you can:

* Avoid call centers and talk to a real live professional, usually the person who will be making the arrangement.

* Get the best deal and the freshest product.

* Not be overcharged for delivery.

* Have your attention brought to other items that they may offer...like artistic vases, hand made chocolates, locally made greeting cards, hand crafted jewelry, stuffed animals (not just bears, but lions, tigers, and bears..oh my!).

* Find out if they have any "specials"...although, honestly, every day you celebrate life, is special.

* And last (but not least), you support a local florist, who just wants to make sure you (the customer) gets the best they have to offer, to make sure the recipient will remember the day they received flowers and knew that you cared enough, took the time to send them a glorious fresh floral bouquet.

I look forward to talking with you, hearing the reason why you're calling, and helping you put your words into floral artistry. I am, after all, your local florist in Seattle that is "Gettin' BiZi and Beeing Happy!"

Funeral Flowers for delivery in Seattle

I, Heather, recently had clients come in to order flowers for a loved ones' passing. It's always difficult to give a consult for these occasions, because I find that I begin to grieve along with my clients. Although, it helps to go through this with them to know where they're coming from. Everyone grieves in their own way and expresses it yet another. Flowers are a great way to express how you feel in this given situation.

My client was burying her husband of 34 years. First I thought..wow!..somebody's that been married that long really does exist, then I thought about how I would feel if I was to lose my sweetheart (having been together only 10 short years), I would want to honor him with a glorious display of flowers to tell the world how he made me feel. My client chose something beautiful and elegant from our book, but we certainly put our own spin on it. The colors and flowers are: cream roses, white dendrobium orchids, white stock, stargazer lillies, fading into pink dendrobium orchids, lavendar tulips, and pink roses. It really is a gorgeous piece that was custom made to their needs.

More and more often, I see on funeral notices these little words that always just irk me..."..in lieu of flowers...". Now, I'm all for supporting cancer research, heart disease research, etc etc...but what about everyone around me knowing how I felt about this person?! I'd say it with flowers...glorious bouquets for the funeral. Now, I'm not just saying this because I'm in the floral industry...I'm saying it because it's how I truly feel. Flowers are wonderful and can be healing with their fragrances and colors. Healing for your heart and soul after losing someone.

A plant or a basket garden filled with green and blooming plants, is a wonderful item to send as well. If you don't like the thought of the fresh cut flowers fading and wilting, send a plant basket. It can have the same effect for the recipient. It lets them know that they do matter and what they're going through, really does matter to someone who cares.

Whichever you choose, I hope you'll put thought into the item that you'll be sending...you can always give me a call and we can discuss your options. Or visit us online and take a look around. Vased fresh cut VeriFlora certified flowers are perfect for the home. Basket gardens or plants are perfect for the home. Larger items like casket sprays (very intimate item to purchase, usually done by the one closest to the departed), standing easels and wreaths are more appropriate for the funeral location.

I look forward to hearing from you and hope this helps with any decisions if you are in this situation. I always have kleenex and time to listen.

Hand Crafted Jewelry at a Floral Shop?

You wouldn't believe it, but here at BiZi Bee Floral in Seattle, we actually carry some gorgeous hand crafted jewelry that is locally made by local artists. It's fun, it's unique, it's at our flower shop.

We always wanted to be a little different than other flower shops and one way that we made that happen is by opening our doors to local vendors/artists to share our space to display their beautiful work.

We've got jewelry by Banu and jewelry by C. Hern. Their jewelry is made with the best jems and stones. The colors are fantastic! I love finding new and cool items that I can wear and get compliments about...so if you're in the mood to do a little shopping, you gotta come check it out.

Something that would be fun to do would be to have some fantastic organic flowers delivered in a interesting artistic vase with an awesome one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry attached to your love. Not only will you earn some fantastic points, your love will be able to keep these and remember you by for all time!

I hope you'll give it some thought (that's what really matters!) and come check out our hand crafted locally made jewelry! Looking forward to seeing you here at "the Bee".

Local "Mom and Pop" Flower Shop Needs Your Help!

BiZi Bee Floral in Seattle is a local “mom and pop” shop. We pride ourselves on that. I’ve been in the floral industry for over 11 years and my husband has a background in sales, but now, we work together (which is difficult at times..as we are complete opposites).

BiZi Bee was born out of love. My husbands’ love for me. He was frustrated that I wasn’t doing things to my full potential (working for somebody else) and decided to start selling roses in nightclubs in the area. That was fun..trapsing around from bar to bar at “O Dark Thirty” trying to make a little money to help with the dream. It was successful.

We had our first road side stand on Mother’s Day ’06. Mind you, I was still working for somebody else. We bought our flowers from local vendors and I must have worked 80 hours at my regular job and another 50 just on the stand. It was crazy! But, I had realized that if I was ever going to share my gift with anybody and be myself doing it, I was going to have to work for myself.

Let me tell you, being an entrepreneuer is tough. We opened BiZi Bee on July 3, ’06 and it all happened by accident and quick at that! I can’t say that everybody was happy about it..especially my old boss. And for that, I am sad that I’ll never be able to tell them how much they meant to me, to nurture and help me grow as much as I did. But, I have a family, and needs of my own..I wanted to be something without them.

I’ve met some really amazing people along the way. I have been fortunate enough to have customers buying flowers for courtship, to marriage, to having their first baby. I have been there for sad occasions and happy ones. We are blessed. Our customers mean so much to us. Without them, we would have never made it this far.

A year and a half has gone by, I have learned a lot. Any mistakes you could make in business, it seems that we have. Why does learning have to be so hard? We’re just taking it one day at a time. Valentine’s Day is fast approaching and we’re working hard, but we still need you (our customers) to make this successful.

I hope you will all come by and see us. We are gettin’ BiZi and Beeing Happy! I hope you will support your local florist and not the big corporations..otherwise, the “mom and pop’s” will no longer exsist. That would be sad.
